SCAHMS 2016 part 2 - Best of Show

This year "Best of Show" went to Alexander Wence De Leon for his incredible work "A DAY AT THE RACES" 1/9th scale scratch-build. He also won several gold medals from other categories. Congratulations Alexander!

ผลงาน "Best of Show" ปีนี้เป็นของ Alexander Wence De Leon ครับ กับผลงานชื่อ "A DAY AT THE RACES" เป็นงานฉากจำลองในขนาด 1/9 ส่วนของมอเตอร์ไซค์นั้นสร้างขึ้นมาใหม่ทั้งหมดด้วยวัสดุหลายๆชนิดครับ เป็นผลงานที่ละเอียดและน่าทึ่งมากๆ นอกจากงานชิ้นนี้แล้ว เจ้าตัวยังคว้าเหรียญทองจากประเภทอื่นๆไปอีกหลายรางวัลครับ 

SCAHMS 2016 part 1 - Report

Last Saturday I went to attend the 2016 SCAHMS Show in La Palma. This year the show was held on April 8-9 at the same place for the last couple years, also the same place for their monthly meeting; La Quinta Inn and Suites in La Palma, California. Looks like it became a tradition for them to hold their annual show on the second Saturday in April.
This is the show I have been waiting for the whole year. After I have attended with them for a couple years, I must say the quality of the entries here always impressed and inspired me. Even though they are just a small group of people with small amount of entries in the show, there are always some works here that will blow your mind or make your jaw drop. I have witnessed it for the past two years and this year was not different, some entries blew me away!

It was great to be there seeing the latest or recent projects from old and new members, meeting with old and new friends and had a lot of chat about our beloved hobby. I had a great time there once again and thank you so much for SCAHMS staff and members for another great show, see you again next year. :)

เมื่อวันเสาร์ที่ผ่านมาผมมีโอกาสไปร่วมงานประกวด 2016 SCAHMS Show ที่จัดขึ้นเป็นประจำทุกปีครับ ซึ่งปีนี้พึ่งจัดไปเมื่อวันศุกร์ที่ 8 และเสาร์ที่ 9 เมษายนที่ผ่านมา โดยจัดที่โรงแรม La Quinta Inn and Suites ใน La Palma, California เป็นสถานที่เดิมที่เคยจัดงานในปีก่อนๆและเป็นที่สำหรับมีตติ้งของทางชมรมในทุกๆเดือนครับ และตอนนี้ดูเหมือนจะเป็นธรรมเนียมของการจัดงานไปแล้ว ว่าจะจัดงานในวันเสาร์ที่สองของเดือนเมษายนในทุกปี เพื่อที่สมาชิกทุกคนจะได้เตรียมตัวไว้สำหรับงานในปีต่อไปเพราะรู้เวลาที่แน่นอนครับ 

ตัวผมเองก็รอคอยที่จะเข้าร่วมงานนี้มาตลอดทั้งปี เพราะหลังจากที่ได้เคยมาร่วมงานสองครั้งก่อนหน้านี้ คงจะพูดได้ว่าผลงานที่นำมาจัดแสดงที่นี่นั้นน่าประทับใจมากๆครับ แม้ว่ากลุ่มคนที่มาร่วมงานจะมีไม่มากนักและผลงานที่เข้าร่วมก็ไม่ได้เยอะมากมายอะไร แต่ที่ผ่านมามันจะมีงานดีๆที่ใช้ทักษะฝีมือระดับสูง ส่งมาร่วมในงานให้ได้ทึ่งและชื่นชมอยู่เสมอ ซึ่งผลงานที่มาร่วมในปีนี้ก็ไม่ต่างกันครับ มีงานหลายๆชิ้นที่ดูแล้วต้องบอกว่าทึ่งจริงๆ 
ซึ่งมันก็ทำให้ผมรู้สึกดีทุกๆครั้งที่ได้ไปร่วมในงานนี้ เพราะนอกจากจะได้ดูผลงานดีๆแล้ว ยังมีโอกาสได้พบและพูดคุยกับสมาชิกทั้งเก่าและใหม่ ได้แลกเปลี่ยนความเห็นหรือวิธีในการทำงานกัน เป็นประสบการณ์ที่ดีมากๆครับ ต้องขอขอบคุณเหล่าสตาฟของทาง SCAHMS ที่ช่วยกันจัดงานนี้ขึ้นมาให้สำเร็จลุล่วงไปด้วยดี หวังว่าปีหน้าคงจะได้กลับไปร่วมงานและนำภาพมาฝากกันแบบนี้อีกครับ

ปีนี้มีการสัมมนาในหัวข้อเรื่อง digital sculpting โดย Vince Chmielewski ตอนช่วงบ่ายครับ ผลงานโมเดลที่พรินต์ออกมานั้นน่าประทับใจมาก สวยงามคมชัดและดูละเอียดมาก

US BAR Gunner (part 3)

Testing my new camera. The result is quite a lot better, the colors look similar to the actual colors on the figure. I am so happy with the result! I will post the finished photos of my recent projects soon.

ความคืบหน้าเล็กน้อยครับ ตอนนี้ได้กล้องใหม่มาแล้วเลยมาทดลองถ่ายดู ผลลัพท์ที่ได้ดีกว่าการถ่ายภาพด้วยโทรศัพท์มาก สีดูใกล้เคียงกับงานจริงมากกว่า หลังจากนี้คงจะทยอยนำงานที่ทำเสร็จแล้วมาถ่ายรูป และจะนำมาลงอีกทีครับ

US BAR Gunner (part 2)

After I finished my latest vignette project, I decided to continue working on this figure. I started painting him last year and you can find the first part with a finished painting face [HERE]. 
A figure from Alpine Miniatures always comes with the highest quality in sculpting and casting. I really enjoyed painting this beautiful sculpt and its impressive details. Even though it was quite difficult to paint and took a lot of time and effort, the result is really worth it. I try to finish this piece before the SCAHMS Show next week, at this moment, the process is a bit further than this post and I will post more updates soon.

For painting the jacket, I used colors from Vallejo Panzer Aces: 70318 US Army Tank Crew and 70322 Highlight US Tank Crew.

หลังจากที่ทำงานฉาก Casualties of War เสร็จเรียบร้อยแล้ว ผมจึงกลับมาทำฟิกเกอร์ชิ้นนี้ต่อ หลังจากที่ทำส่วนหัวทิ้งเอาไว้ตั้งแต่ช่วงกลางปีที่แล้ว (ลองเข้าไปชมภาพได้ที่นี่ครับ [HERE]) เนื่องจากตั้งใจว่าจะพยายามทำให้เสร็จก่อนงานประกวดของ SCAHMS ที่จะจัดขึ้นอาทิตย์หน้าครับ ความคืบหน้า ณ ขณะนี้จะมากกว่าภาพที่นำมาโพสหน่อย หลังจากนี้คงจะนำภาพเพิ่มเติมมาโพสอีกทีครับ

สำหรับฟิกเกอร์ของ Alpine Miniatures นั้น ส่วนตัวผมให้ยี่ห้อนี้เป็นอันดับหนึ่งในด้านคุณภาพของการปั้นและการหล่อเลยครับ รายละเอียดต่างๆของตัวฟิกเกอร์ ไม่ว่าจะเป็นเสื้อผ้าหรืออุปกรณ์นั้นปั้นออกมาได้สวยมากและละเอียดจริงๆ รวมไปถึงการโพสท่าก็ดูเป็นธรรมชาติมาก ถึงแม้ว่าการเพนท์งานที่มีรายละเอียดสูงแบบนี้จะค่อนข้างยาก ต้องใช้เวลาและความพยายามพอสมควร แต่ผลลัพท์ที่ได้นั้นคุ้มค่ากับความพยายามที่ลงไปจริงๆครับ
