Alpine Miniatures 1/16 scale resin bust
I started making this bust a couple of years ago, at that time, I finished painting only the head then left it on the shelf after lost interest and confidence in finishing the bust. Time has passed and I gained more experience and confidence in painting over a couple of years. So, I thought maybe it's time to finish some of the projects that I left on the shelf for so long, and this bust was my first choice that I wanted to continue painting.
The painting was done with various acrylic paints brands such as Vallejo, Kimera Kolors, and Scale75. The head was finished a long time ago but overall it still looks pretty good so I just added some more highlight and shadow on some areas and repainted the nose-end and the visor. I decided to paint the plaid scarf in the Red-Pink pattern because I want to make it looks in contrast to the Black uniform, also a bit more interesting than usual military subject.
After a couple of years, I'm so happy that this bust is finally finished. I've been finished three historical pieces in a row so maybe it's time to switch back again to the fantasy side. I still have some fantasy projects that I started and left on the shelf for so long. I might try to finish one of them and more updates will be posted soon.
งานบัสชิ้นนี้จริงๆเริ่มทำไว้ตั้งแต่ 2 ปีก่อนครับ ตอนนั้นหลังจากที่เพนท์ส่วนหัวจนเสร็จหมดแล้ว แต่ยังไม่แน่ใจว่าจะทำส่วนอื่นต่อแบบไหนดี ก็เลยเก็บงานนี้เอาไว้ในตู้และเปลี่ยนไปทำงานชิ้นอื่นๆต่อจนเวลาล่วงเลยมาถึงตอนนี้ ถึงได้มีโอกาสนำงานชิ้นนี้กลับมาปัดฝุ่นทำใหม่อีกที ด้วยความที่เวลามันผ่านไปนาน และประสบการณ์ต่างๆที่ได้รับมาก่อนหน้า จึงทำให้มุมมองที่มีต่องานชิ้นนี้นั้นเปลี่ยนไปจากเดิม ในครั้งนี้จึงมีภาพที่ชัดเจนมากขึ้นว่าอยากจะทำออกมาในรูปแบบไหนครับ
โดยการเพนท์ทั้งหมดนั้นใช้สีอะคริลิกของ Vallejo, Kimera Kolors และ Scale75 ผสมกันไปครับ ซึ่งส่วนหัวที่ทำเสร็จอยู่แล้วนั้นเพนท์ด้วยสี Vallejo เป็นหลัก แม้จะทำเอาไว้นานแล้วแต่ส่วนตัวรู้สึกว่าโดยรวมมันโอเคดีแล้ว จึงมีการเพนท์เพิ่มเติมเพียงแค่แสงและเงาในบางจุดเพื่อให้สีโดยรวมนั้นดูลงตัวมากขึ้น และมีการเพนท์แก้ส่วนของปลายจมูกและปีกหมวกที่ของเดิมทำเอาไว้ไม่ดีเท่าไหร่ครับ
ส่วนของผ้าพันคอลายสก็อตผมเลือกทำเป็นลายสีแดง-ชมพู เนื่องจากต้องการให้สีมันดูตัดกับชุดสีดำ แล้วช่วยทำให้งานที่เป็นหัวข้อทหารแบบนี้นั้นดูโดดเด่นและน่าสนใจมากขึ้นกว่าสีชุดทหารแบบทึมๆทั่วไปครับ
แม้ว่างานชิ้นนี้จะถูกเก็บเอาไว้นานเป็นปีกว่าจะได้นำมาทำต่อจนเสร็จ แต่ส่วนตัวรู้สึกพอใจกับผลลัพท์ที่ได้มาก บางครั้งการที่รู้สึกว่ายังไม่แน่ใจในการทำงานชิ้นไหน และหยุดไว้ไม่ทำต่อ ก็อาจจะกลายเป็นผลดีในภายหลังก็เป็นได้ เพราะหากฝืนทำต่อในตอนนั้น ด้วยมุมมองและประสบการณ์ที่มีก็อาจจะได้ผลลัพท์ที่ไม่น่าพอใจเหมือน ณ ตอนนี้ครับ
ช่วงที่ผ่านมาทำงานแนวทหารและประวัติศาสตร์เสร็จต่อเนื่องมาสามชิ้นแล้ว หลังจากนี้คงจะกลับไปเพนท์งานแนวแฟนตาซีกันบ้างครับ ยังมีงานแนวแฟนตาซีที่ทำค้างไว้อีกหลายชิ้นมากๆ ไม่แน่อาจจะเอางานที่เก่าเก็บกลับมาทำใหม่อีกรอบ ไว้ถ้ามีความคืบหน้าเมื่อไหร่คงจะนำมาลงให้ชมกันเช่นเดิมครับ
